The Power of Color

The website teaches people that how color can be powerful and special. People can be influenced by color strongly in different ways. First, people can feel various emotion from color.Every color evokes different emotion. For example, people can feel dull from black and gray, and Blue can convey sad tone. Second, people can be influenced by color in physiological ways. For example, if people stare at red circle for 15 to 30 seconds and close eyes for 10 seconds(afterimage), then they will see a green or a green-blue circle when they closed eyes because people's brains try to balance out red with red's complement which is green. This appearance is known as simultaneous contrast. The Color Wheel is a great picture which shows the complement clearly.

The website also show people that "colors look different depending on what others colors surround them." For example, background colors can dull or brighten the center color, so people should check that colors match each other or not. There is one unique and special color. The color is gray. gray makes complementary color more bright.
Contrast and Dimension

Dimension can created when more than two colors create contrast. Even though colors are on 2-D, people can feel that one color is close to them, and other colors are far away from them. For example, warmer colors appear in the foreground, and cool colors appear in the background.
Contrast
Hue: the name of the pure color itself, such as 100% pure red(vivid colors).
-energetic and extreme contrast is created by hue
*if percent of hue decrease, then colors appear much less energetic
Light and Dark:Dark colors come forward; light colors recede
-If people decease the percentages, the contrast lessen.
Cool and Warm:warm colors appear forward. Cool and warm colors create powerful contrast and dimension
Saturation:Dullness of color creates contrast.(Mix colors/EX:10% black with 100%yellow)
Proportion:relative size and size
*if there are few red dots and green background, red dot will stand out even though they are smaller.
